Complete Coverage Across All Four ACT Sections

Each ACT section tests a different skillset. Our certified tutors approach each one differently — because the strategy that works in Science is completely different from what works in English.

ACT English

ACT English isn't a grammar quiz in isolation — it's editing a passage in real time. Students who understand why a sentence works, not just which rule applies, consistently outperform those who memorized rules alone. We teach both.

Topics Covered

ACT Math

ACT Math covers a broader range of topics than many students expect — from basic pre-algebra through trigonometry — but the questions are designed to be solved efficiently. We identify which areas are costing your child points and build the fastest path to closing those gaps.

Topics Covered

ACT Reading

ACT Reading is as much a timing challenge as a comprehension challenge. Students have 35 minutes for four passages — roughly 8 minutes per passage including reading and answering all 10 questions. We build both the comprehension skills and the pacing habits that make that timeline achievable.

Topics Covered

ACT Science

ACT Science surprises most students — because it's not really a science knowledge test. It's a data interpretation test. Students who know how to read a graph, compare experimental results, and identify a researcher's hypothesis outperform students who tried to memorize biology facts. We teach the right approach from session one.

Why Students Improve Faster With My Tutoring Spot

Most ACT prep programs follow the same schedule for every student but we don’t

Some students need help with algebra.
Others lose points in Reading.
Some understand the material but struggle with pacing.

Your tutor adjusts every lesson around your progress instead of following a fixed curriculum. That means more time on weak areas, less time reviewing concepts you’ve already mastered, and faster score improvement.

Not Sure Which ACT Section to Focus On?

We run a diagnostic first. It shows us exactly where your child’s points are going.

How Our ACT Preparation Process Work

A clear, step-by-step process — from your child’s first score to the one they walk in with on test day.

Free consultation and goal-setting

We start with a real conversation. What's your child's current composite score? What do they need — and for which colleges or scholarships? How much time is there before the test date? These answers shape everything that follows before a single session is booked.

Diagnostic assessment

Before content instruction begins, we assess your child's actual performance across all four sections. We identify the specific question types, timing patterns, and content areas costing them points — not a guess based on their school grade. That picture is the foundation of the prep plan.

Personalized ACT study plan

Using the diagnostic results, your child's certified tutor builds a session-by-session plan targeting the sections and question types that will move the composite score most. Strong in Reading but losing points in Science and Math? That's where the time goes. No generic curriculum, no sessions covering material they already know.

Weekly One-on-One Tutoring

Each live online session focuses on teaching concepts, reviewing mistakes, practicing strategies, and building confidence.

Practice Tests & Score Reviews

Students complete timed ACT practice tests throughout the program. Every practice exam includes detailed feedback so students understand:
1. Where they improved
2.Where they still lose points
3.What to focus on next

Test strategy and exam-day readiness

Content knowledge alone doesn't produce top ACT scores. We also teach section-specific pacing strategies, how to skip and return to difficult questions without losing time, how to use process of elimination under pressure, and how to stay composed through four back-to-back sections. Students arrive at the test center with a complete strategy — not just content review.

All four ACT sections covered

English, Math, Reading, and Science — each with its own specialist approach, not a generalist covering all four.

Evening and weekend sessions available

Flexible scheduling around school, sports, and everything else on a high schooler's plate.

Why One-On-One ACT Tutoring Outperforms Every Other Option

Group prep courses, apps, and video programs all have the same flaw: they cover everything for everyone at the same pace. If your child is already scoring well in Reading, they’re still sitting through Reading lessons while Math keeps dragging down the composite.

We target the sections that will actually move the composite

The ACT composite is an average of four section scores. A student who's already a 28 in Reading but a 20 in Science will move their composite far faster by spending time in Science — not split evenly across all four. One-on-one tutoring makes that targeted allocation possible. Generic courses don't.

The same tutor builds a picture that gets more accurate over time

By session three or four, your child's tutor knows which types of questions they rush, which ones they second-guess, and what explanation style produces the fastest understanding. That accumulated knowledge makes each session more effective than the last. A rotating instructor resets that picture every time.

Test anxiety decreases when preparation feels personal

Students who have sat through full-length practice tests with a tutor they know, reviewed every mistake without judgment, and walked into sessions where someone already understands their specific challenges — those students feel genuinely prepared on test day. That's a different psychological state from a student who worked through a book alone and hopes for the best.

About The ACT — What Parents and Students Need to Know

The ACT changed significantly in 2025. Here’s what’s current so families in Dallas can plan correctly.

The Enhanced ACT (2025)

From September 2025, all students taking the ACT nationally (online or paper) now take the ACT Core Test — a streamlined format focused on English, Math, and Reading, with Science and Writing as optional sections.

Scoring

The ACT is scored on a scale of 1–36. The composite score is the average of the four section scores. Most competitive Texas colleges and universities look for composites between 25 and 33 depending on selectivity.

When to start ACT prep

Ideally 3–6 months before the test date for comprehensive prep. Meaningful improvement is possible in as little as 6–8 weeks with focused one-on-one sessions — we'll build a realistic plan around whatever timeline you have.

SAT or ACT — which is better?

Neither is universally better — it depends on your child's strengths. Students who are strong in science data interpretation often score higher on the ACT. We can help you decide which test fits your child's profile during the free consultation.

FAQs

Common questions about ACT tutoring in Dallas

It depends on their strengths. Students who handle data interpretation and science reasoning well often score higher on the ACT. Students who are stronger in evidence-based reading and don’t need a Science section may prefer the SAT. We can help you make the right call during the free consultation — or advise running a diagnostic for both.

It depends on the starting composite, the specific sections dragging the score down, and how consistently we meet. Students who begin below a 22 composite typically have the most room to improve. Students in the 24–28 range can make meaningful gains with targeted work on their weakest section. We’ll give you a realistic estimate based on the diagnostic before committing to anything.

Yes. We prepare students for the current ACT Core Test format, which became the national standard from September 2025. This includes the streamlined structure with English, Math, and Reading as core sections, and optional Science and Writing. We don’t use outdated materials from the previous full-length format.

Yes. Some students only need help with Math or Reading, while others want support across all subjects. We personalize every study plan based on the student’s current performance and target score.

Yes — full-length, timed practice tests are built into every ACT prep plan. We review every result in detail. Wrong answers are data that sharpens what we work on next. No practice test is administered without a thorough review session following it.

Most students benefit from starting 8 to 12 weeks before their exam. This provides enough time to strengthen concepts, complete practice tests, and build confidence without cramming.

Yes — and this combination is often the most efficient. When the same certified teacher handles both subject tutoring and ACT prep, they already understand your child’s academic gaps. That means ACT prep is faster and more targeted than starting with a separate program that has no context for where your child actually stands.

All major Texas universities — UT Austin, Texas A&M, TCU, SMU, and others — accept both the SAT and ACT equally. A strong ACT composite can qualify students for merit scholarships at several Texas schools. We’ll help you understand what score range your child should be targeting based on their specific college list.

We don’t rely on worksheets or generic lesson plans. Students work with the same tutor every session, receive targeted instruction, complete realistic practice tests, and learn proven strategies that improve both accuracy and pacing.
